This is a personal Website developed and maintained by Daniel Anthony Vega. I am a 28 year old programmer living in Cleveland Ohio. I graduated with an associates degree in computer programming from a small technical school here in Cleveland. It was that which made me realize my true calling, it may have not been glamorous but I found something I enjoy and a skill I was good at. I guess as many others in the programming community I was happy to find something that I was passionate about. I love the fact that there is never one solution to a problem and that the sky is the limit with what I can do. I guess as almost anyone I am still trying to gain confidence in the skills that I have and hope to be a noticeable programmer in the ColdFusion community. I am currently studying for my ColdFusion certification, I could probably pass if I took the test tomorrow but I really want to achieve a master certification.
I then found a job with a small startup company based out of San Francisco California. I was the seventh employee to jump on board at Five9. The company sold a Java based VOIP Call Center solution. I started out by giving tier 1 technical support and as the company grew I moved up in the ranks in support. I eventually was giving the job of maintaining our corporate website. I setup and maintained our web server which ran Red Hat Enterprise, MySQL, Apache, Tomcat, and ColdFusion. After a two year run with Five9 I realized that I just wasn't happy living in California so I moved back. I didn't move back empty handed though.
I was offered a job as a programmer with Letternine and jumped on the opportunity immediately. I would now be programming full time mainly in ColdFusion which is what I am good at so I was very excited. As of November 1st 2006 I have been with Letternine for 2 years and could not be happier. We have a lot of exciting projects we are working on that keep my skills up to date and challenge me on a day to day basis. An environment where you can be yourself and actually enjoy the company of co workers is always a good one.
The blog here on my site is mainly a way for me to keep notes and hopefully help others out. I enjoy helping others and take great pride in my work. If you would ever like to ask me questions please do not hesitate to email me at danvega at GMail dot com.
