CFUnited 2008 Wrap up
I am going to post a bunch of stuff about my experience and all of the presentations I attended but I thought I would start with a general wrap up of the conference. This was my first conference so I really don't have much to compare it to. That being said CFUnited was a big hit for me. It was really great meeting so many people from the community that I either talk to and / or look up to. Hanging around so many intelligent people really motivates you to come home and get your butt into a higher gear. I think TeraTech deserves a big round of applause for putting this together. I know that some people had some dislikes such as walking or the food but for me they were only minor issues.
If you have never attended a conference you really need to start planning to attend one. As I said earlier, the number 1 thing I came away with was motivation to work harder. I really want to advance my skill set, work on more community projects and maybe even speak next year! Before I get into that though I think I will start with the local user group and I will get in touch with Charlie about doing a presentation on ColdFusion Meetup
The conference itself was a hit but the real winner was meeting some really great people. I plan on hitting up future conferences for the networking alone. One included a room party with some friendly competitions (there is video of it) and another night included a large pie fight ( there is also video of this). The great thing is I now have a face to put with everyone's work. I believe that I have come away from this conference with many good friends who I plan on talking with a lot more. Big thanks to everyone for a great time this week and I can't wait to do it again.
