ColdFusion and ExtJS

Word Count: 182

I had such a good response from my cf_window project that I have decided to go forward and add on to it. My cf_window tag is no where completed but I figured I would let folks use it and get some feedback on it before adding to it or fixing the few small bugs I know of. I think what really got people excited was the ability to use the great Ext UI functionality with the simplicity that we are all used to. With that being said I am really open to suggestions on what to work on next. I know the grids, trees and tabs are at the top of everyones list but I would like to hear your opinions on it. I would also like to get some feedback on Ext in general. Did you just recently hear about it? Have you ever tried it before? What were your thoughts on the library. All of this well help me out a lot. Leave some feedback here or email me.

I've been using YUI for about a year and somewhere along the line I heard about EXT JS which originally extended YUI. I've gotten into it more since I heard that it was a part of Coldfusion 8. I find it to be pretty straight forward. I've mainly been using 1.1, but I've recently been looking into the tree features in 2.0. I'm not sure how to abstract the tree yet since there is a lot of flexibility.

I've known about EXT and YUI for quite some time, but never got around to implimenting anything as I had no idea how to integrate them. I'm novice at both Javascript and Coldfusion.

Seeing your cfWindow has given me a learning example and a renewed interest in the EXT library. Great job so far, I can't wait to see what else comes of your work.

Does ExtJS come with Coldfusion??? I currently have Coldfusion and would like to know if I have to purchase ExtJS or is it part of Coldfusion?

Thanks!
Tim

@Tim
ColdFusion 8 has ExtJS "built in" and is what CF uses for a lot of the new AJAX tags like cfgrid (html format), cfwindow, and cflayout. Keep in mind that CF uses ExtJS version 1.1, while Ext is now up to 2.1.
